The Dreaded About Me Section!

Welcome to Fashion and Beyond!

This is a new adventure for me and I'm nervous about doing this but my excitement is outweighing the nerves. When I'm not busy being a mom or wife, I'm online searching for articles on various topics. During my internet sessions, a few blogs belonging to stay-at-home moms caught my eye and I couldn't help but wonder if this was something I could do as well. My goal isn't to make money, it's to showcase my addiction to subscription boxes and to review the different products I find myself buying.

I can't tell you how many times I've looked at products and felt unsure about buying them because I didn't know much about them. It's frustrating when you find yourself standing in a store wondering if something is worth spending money on. If you're like me, you often put the product back because you can't really justify buying it. When you have to do that you feel a bit sad because you can't help but wonder what if. That happens to me frequently and that was why I started researching things that I saw and realized I wanted.

One of my goals for Fashion and Beyond is to provide quality reviews on items I've found and decided to blindly buy. Sometimes the product is a gold mine and other times, it's a huge disappointment. My intention isn't to put down brands or items, it's to offer my experience with them and my overall opinion. I just want to help others when they're looking to make a purchase because we all know that money doesn't grow on trees. Though I know we all wish it did.

Not only will I be reviewing stand alone products, I'll be reviewing subscription services. I suppose you could say that I'm addicted to them. They're so much fun and every month is a mystery.

Who doesn't like a little suspense sometimes?

I've spent a lot of time trying various boxes and sometimes the products are really great. Then there are the times that nothing in the box really interests you. That's something I find to be a little off-putting but I try to remain optimistic by hoping the next box will knock my socks off. There have been times that I was frustrated enough to cancel only to catch a glimpse of what was coming the next month. That little sneak peak had me running to purchase the box again because the product was something I really wanted. I want to be able to encourage you to not give up right away. Some of the boxes are redeemed by waiting it out and trying one more time. I've been in that situation a few times now and nine times out of ten, I was glad I didn't cancel.

My reviews and posts won't just be on clothing or makeup, I want to keep it well rounded and cover a lot of different things. I've got some exciting things planned and I can't wait to share them with all of you who take the time to read my posts. I also want to invite you to share items you might want to see a detailed review on. I'll do my best to get it done and share my findings with you. The stand alone product reviews will include so many different things such as shoes, makeup, hair products, clothes, and maybe even some kids things! I can't even begin to describe all the things I want to share with you guys. My mind is racing and I'm so excited about finally doing this. It's something I've thought about for a long time and finally doing it feels good.

I'm not really a fashionista but I'm learning and with any luck, I'll turn into one. I've spent too much time just buying my clothes from stores like Aeropostale. Not that there is anything wrong with that store, I just wanted something more. I felt like my style was non existent and that was why I started looking into awesome companies with curated boxes and sometimes non curated. Not only was my style lackluster, I kind of forgot what makeup was. Some of that happened when I was pregnant with my son, who is now three. I guess I just never got my zest for dolling myself up back.

My journey into subscription boxes, mystery boxes, and beyond is starting to remind me why I used to love dressing up and putting on a pretty face. It allowed me to branch out and try things I'd never thought I'd try, like energy soap bars. Those are interesting and maybe I'll do a review on my experience with that one. The point is, these boxes and services brought something out in me, something I didn't realize I was missing. Now, I want to share my newfound passion with others.

Honestly, I'm still new to some of this and it's going to be a journey that we're going to share together. It's going to have ups and downs because not everything is good, theres always those disappointments but we'll both learn from them.

This isn't just my journey, it's ours and I really hope you decide to stick around and have some fun with me.
